Speed Dial - Privacy Policy.
General Notes
This Privacy Policy describes Speed Dial's information practices for its browser extension. Your continued use of the Speed Dial extension constitutes your agreement to this policy.
Information Speed Dial collects
Anonymous information
The Speed Dial extension captures anonymous usage information including, but not limited to, the version number of the extension and browser and operating system type. The Speed Dial extension also assigns an anonymous, unique ID to each installation. We store aggregate statistics about the installation connected with each user ID indefinitely. We utilize this information to help us identify and fix potential issues with Speed Dial as well as to determine the performance of Speed Dial features.
Extension error information
An error report is automatically sent to Speed Dial's servers whenever an error occurs in the extension. The report contains the anonymous information. If a domain exists in the error description then the extension will attempt to remove it. The report never contains full url. The data is used for troubleshooting and to identify general defects which lead to unexpected crashes or errors.
Network Optimization and Security Enhancements
The extension leverages the Dynamic Network Request (DNR) API, which takes into account your geographic location (among other parameters) to enhance webpage loading speeds, optimize browsing processes, and ensure an additional layer of online security. This mechanism dynamically adapts network interactions to individual usage patterns, managing redirections efficiently, minimizing latency while aligning requests with contemporary standards of information security and performance efficiency.
Platform Compatibility and Automatic Uninstallation on Unsupported Systems
The extension is not compatible with mobile platforms, tablet devices, or certain operating systems. In cases where the extension is inadvertently installed on these unsupported environments, it will automatically initiate a self-removal process. This is done to ensure system stability and to prevent any unintended malfunctions, as the extension's core functionality relies on system-specific architectures that are not present or optimized for such devices. The self-uninstallation mechanism ensures that no residual components or potential conflicts remain, preserving the integrity and performance of the affected device's operating system.
Extension update
Your browser periodically checks for updates of all your extensions including Speed Dial. Updates to stable Speed Dial for Chrome/Edge releases are handled by the Chrome Web Store/Microsoft Edge Add-ons website and are subject to the Google Privacy Policy/Microsoft Privacy Policy.
